Now, you can recapture some fascinating moments of Christmas Past with several seasonal traditions at the Geffrye Museum, London. It is also a golden opportunity to celebrate the 400 years of festive traditions. With the beginning of festive season in London, the Geffrye Museum decorates its 11th period rooms in a complete authentic festive style. Living rooms dating back to the 17th century can also be seen at this museum. You can also discover the ways in which people of that century would have prepared for Christmas.

It is a great way to explore the vibrant Christmas traditions of the past. Most of the traditions portrayed and displayed at this museum are forgotten these days. Keeping in mind the Eco Home Exhibition going on at the museum, this year’s Christmas Past display is on the theme of make do and mend. Several homemade things will be focused on during this Christmas.

Besides the Christmas Past exhibition, several exciting events will also be organized at the museum, some of these special events are listed below:

· Vintage Christmas Decorations using a wide variety of recycled fabrics. This event will be held on 5th December 2009 from 11:30am – 4:30pm. Tickets for this event will cost you around 25£, which includes the cost of all the material.

· A 1950’s Christmas Period Room Talk

The event is planned for 12th December 2009 from 11:30am – 3pm.

· Swags and Garlands Workshop

At this eco friendly event you can use some green seed pots, spices and dried fruits with recycled materials and create some environment friendly decorations for this Christmas. The event will take place on 12th December from 1:30pm – 4:30pm and will cost you around 30£.

Several other concerts and exciting events will be organized at Geffrye Museum, so enjoy and celebrate this Christmas season with some fabulous entertainment.
